SKD61 Tool Steel is a Japanese standard hot work grade we process. This material contains about 0.35% carbon, about 5.0% chromium, about 1.2% molybdenum, and about 1.0% vanadium.
It has low impurity content and high material purity. It offers excellent resistance to high-temperature fatigue and thermal cracking. It also provides excellent polishability and nitriding performance.
During processing, we test hardness and dimensional accuracy for each batch. This ensures consistent quality for every batch.

Perfect for Precision Die Casting and Hot Punches
SKD61 Tool Steel is suitable for precision die casting molds, aluminum part dies for cameras and mobile phones, hot punches, and high-temperature wear-resistant ejector pins.
If you need high-purity hot work steel, this material provides excellent surface quality after processing.
For heat treatment, we recommend quenching at 1020°C to 1040°C. The tempering temperature is 550°C to 600°C. Hardness after quenching and tempering reaches 47 to 53HRC.
We support size customization. We offer sawing, milling, grinding, and heat treatment services.
Our inspection equipment includes hardness testers, spectrometers, and precision calipers.

Small sample materials are provided free of charge. The buyer covers shipping costs.
